After 1.5 years of programming, shows, rehearsals, and classes, we have made the decision to close Zanaty Performance Company.

This decision comes after careful consideration of the time, financial investment, and overall demands required to continue operating at the level we set out to maintain.

Why We’re Closing

Running a startup arts organization requires significant resources, consistency, and long-term sustainability.

As we’ve grown, it’s become clear that balancing finances, time allocation, and the day-to-day demands of operations is not something we can continue to do in a way that serves our students and families at the standard they deserve.

Rather than stretch resources thin or compromise the quality of our programs, we’ve chosen to bring the organization to a close.

Impact & What Was Built

Over the past year and a half, we’ve had the opportunity to work with more than 130 students across our programs.

We’ve seen real growth in confidence, performance, and commitment and that impact is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Every rehearsal, class, and performance contributed to building something meaningful within this community.

For Our Students & Families

We strongly encourage all of our students to continue pursuing theatre and the arts.

Birmingham has a strong network of arts organizations offering training, performance opportunities, and community. There are many great paths forward, and we hope each student continues to grow within them.

Note from our Founder

When I started Zanaty Performance Company, the goal was simple: create a space where students could grow as performers in a practical, hands-on way.

Over the past 1.5 years, that goal became real through the students and families who showed up, committed to the process, and trusted the work.

Closing wasn’t a quick decision. It came down to recognizing what it truly takes to run something like this well; time, resources, and long-term structure, and being honest about where things stand.

I’m proud of what was built here. More importantly, I’m proud of the students who put in the work and grew through it.

Thank you to every family that trusted us and every student who stepped into the room.
