Meet Your Directors

Chaz Zanaty, Founder of ZPC
chaz@zanatyperformance.org

Chaz Zanaty leads the Theatre program at ZPC with a mission to develop practical, capable performers who are ready for both the stage and the modern entertainment world. His background in performance, directing, and arts education brings a strong mix of creativity, discipline, and real-world understanding to every program.

Chaz has been a performer for as long as he can remember. From the moment he could move, he was singing, acting, or finding some way to put on a show. No instrument, stage, or song was ever safe from him, and that early spark grew into a lifelong passion for helping others discover their own voice.

Every class, rehearsal, and production is built with care and intention. Chaz works to create an encouraging environment where performers can grow, take risks, build confidence, and learn the skills they need to thrive both onstage and beyond it.

What Students Learn

Acting & Character Work

Students learn core acting technique including character creation, emotional truth, scene analysis, and storytelling. Emphasis is placed on purposeful choices, memorization skills, improvisation, and connecting authentically to material. Advanced students develop audition technique, cold reads, and on-camera acting fundamentals.

Vocal Training & Text Work

Performers study vocal projection, articulation, musical phrasing, breath control, and expressive delivery. Beyond singing, students practice text work, timing, and making strong vocal choices that support character, clarity, and stage presence.

Movement, Blocking & Physical Storytelling

Students develop body awareness, posture, physical commitment, and clean blocking. Training includes choreography basics, stage movement, physical characterization, and understanding how presence and intention shape a performance. Advanced performers explore stage combat basics, camera framing, and movement suited for film.

Professionalism & Industry Preparation

ZPC emphasizes real-world expectations: punctuality, rehearsal etiquette, script organization, teamwork, adaptability, and receiving direction. Older performers receive guidance on audition materials, resumes, self-tapes, professional behavior, and how to carry themselves in creative environments.

Collaboration & Ensemble Work

Students learn to perform as part of a unified cast—listening, supporting partners, building trust, and contributing to the collective energy of a production. We teach performers how to function within an ensemble with professionalism, respect, and awareness.

Creative Problem Solving & Confidence Building

Performers practice making quick choices, adjusting in the moment, managing nerves, and using creativity to overcome challenges. Students build confidence not just in performance, but in communication, teamwork, and self-expression.

Building confident, capable performers through practical, real-world training.

Our Scholarship Commitment

Access for every performer.

ZPC is committed to ensuring that financial limitations never prevent a student from participating in the performing arts. We offer need-based scholarships and flexible payment options to support families and individuals who require assistance. Every season, a portion of our budget is dedicated to providing reduced-tuition opportunities so performers of all backgrounds can train, create, and grow with us.
Our goal is simple: talent, passion, and potential should always matter more than financial circumstance.

Policies

Standards that keep our programs safe, clear, and consistent.

ZPC maintains a structured set of policies to ensure a positive, predictable experience for all performers and families. These include:

Attendance & Commitment

Regular attendance is essential for production readiness and ensemble success. Performers are expected to attend rehearsals on time and communicate conflicts in advance.

Conduct & Professionalism

Students, families, staff, and volunteers are expected to treat one another with respect. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, or unsafe behavior.

Payments & Tuition

Tuition must be paid on schedule, unless a formal arrangement or scholarship has been granted. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Safety & Media Release

Only students with an active Media Release Form may appear in photos or videos. All content must follow ZPC’s Social Media Use Policy and may only be posted through official ZPC accounts.

Costumes, Materials & Participation

Performers are responsible for any personal costume items unless otherwise noted. Production participation requires adherence to costume, rehearsal, and performance guidelines.

These policies exist to support a healthy, organized environment where performers can focus on training, creativity, and growth.
