Volunteer With
Zanaty Performance Company

Who Can Volunteer?

Adult Volunteers

  • Ages 19+

  • Great for parents, educators, theatre artists, college students, and community members

Student Volunteers

  • Ages 15–18 (eligibility varies by program)

  • Perfect for teens who love theatre, want experience, or need service hours

You don’t need any previous performing arts experience to get started. If you’re willing to show up, be kind, and work hard, we’ll train you.

What Volunteers Do

Volunteers are never left alone with students and help with a wide range of tasks based on skill, comfort level, and interest. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Event & rehearsal setup/tear-down

  • Front-of-house duties and audience seating

  • Prop and costume organization

  • Basic choreography support and dance review

  • Tech assistance (lights, sound, scene changes)

  • Backstage support during rehearsals and performances

In addition, volunteers may also:

  • Fill in adult ensemble/featured roles in select productions when needed

  • Assist in dance roles for our youngest classes (ages 3–6)

  • Serve as small-group coaches during breakout sessions for vocal or music programs

  • Help paint, construct, or build sets, props, and scenic elements

We’ll always match you with opportunities that align with your skills, comfort level, and schedule.

Safety First

The safety of our students is non-negotiable.

  • All volunteers are background checked before serving

  • Volunteers complete a training and onboarding process

  • Adults and student volunteers are never placed in one-on-one isolation with a minor

  • Our staff and policies are designed to create a safe, supervised environment at all times

How to Get Started

  1. Fill Out the Volunteer Application
Tell us as much as you can about your experience, interests, and availability. The more detail you share, the better we can place you.

  2. Screening & Background Check
Our team will review your application and send over the required forms for a background check (for adult volunteers).

  3. Onboarding & Training
Approved volunteers will attend a brief orientation, review our safety policies, and get matched with upcoming programs or events.
